Covers manufacturing faults — a weld, a hinge, a frame that fails in normal use, a seam or a zip that goes. We repair it, send the part, or replace the piece.
It doesn't cover chewing, scratching, damage from misuse, or anything loaded past its stated weight limit. Nor does it cover normal wear: sisal fraying is the post doing its job, and carpet treads mat down with use.

The tailgate is the one he can't do any more.
A truck bed sits a foot higher than a car trunk. It's the jump that goes first, and the one that does the most damage on the way down.
Getting him to use it
Almost no dog walks up a ramp the first time.
Rushing it on day one is the surest way to make him refuse it for good. Three short sessions over a week is all it takes.
-
1
Lay it flat
Open it on the ground indoors or on the drive, flat, nowhere near the truck. Walk him across it for treats until it stops being interesting.
-
2
Raise it slowly
Lift one end a few inches and repeat over two or three days. Let him set the pace rather than coaxing him up a full slope on day one.
-
3
Clip the tether
Set it against the tailgate, clip the carabiner to the latch, and walk beside him the first few times. The tether is what stops it shifting underfoot.
Will it fit your truck?
Measure before you order.
Measure from the ground to your tailgate or bed floor. The longer the ramp, the gentler the climb - 63 inches suits most SUVs and crossovers, 71 inches is the one for pickup beds and lifted trucks. If your dog is arthritic, size up.
Take the height from the ground to the tailgate or bed floor. The longer the ramp, the gentler the climb, and if your dog is arthritic, size up.

Why we sell ramps to people with big dogs.
| Kodiak | A car ramp | Lifting him yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Truck beds and lifted SUVs | Built for them | Too short, slope too steep | Hardest possible lift |
| Weight capacity | 250 lb | Usually 150 lb | Whatever you can carry |
| Surface underfoot | Ribbed carpet, soft on pads | Grit or plastic | Not applicable |
| Anchored to the vehicle | Steel carabiner tether | Rests in place only | Not applicable |
| Your back | Nothing to lift | Nothing to lift | This is where owners get hurt |
| Stored in the truck | Folds to a quarter length | Folds in half | Nothing to store |
About Kodiak Heavy-Duty Dog Ramp for Truck Beds, 250 lb, 63 or 71 Inches
A pickup bed sits roughly a foot higher than the trunk of a car, and that foot is what ends the jumping. A dog who still manages the back seat will stand at a tailgate and wait to be lifted, and a 90 lb dog lifted to chest height is where owners hurt themselves. A dog ramp for truck beds has to be longer, stronger and anchored, or he will not trust it.
Kodiak is the heavy one. An anodized aluminum frame rated to 250 lb, riveted rather than glued, with a ribbed carpet surface instead of grit: softer under an old dog's pads, and it doesn't shred them in the wet. It folds four ways into a flat slab with a webbing handle, so a 71-inch ramp still lives behind the seat.
The tether is the part people don't expect to care about and then do. A steel carabiner clips to the tailgate latch, so the ramp is attached to the truck rather than balanced against it. On gravel, with a big dog shifting his weight halfway up, that matters.
Why Kodiak works for big dogs and tall trucks
- 63 or 71 inches longthe 71-inch keeps the slope gentle from a pickup bed or a lifted truck; the 63-inch suits most SUVs.
- 250 lb ratinganodized, riveted aluminum that stays rigid under the heaviest breeds.
- 17 or 20 inches widethe 20-inch deck gives an unsteady dog room to correct his footing.
- Ribbed carpet surfacesofter than grit on old pads, grips when wet, hoses clean.
- Steel carabiner tetherclips to the tailgate latch so the ramp cannot slide out from under him.
- Quadruple-foldpacks to a quarter of its length with a reinforced webbing handle.
- Adjustable anti-slip feetsits level on gravel and on a slope.

Which length for your truck?
Measure from the ground to your tailgate or bed floor. The longer the ramp, the gentler the climb: 63 inches suits most SUVs and crossovers, 71 inches is the one for pickup beds and lifted trucks. If your dog is arthritic, size up, and take the 20-inch width for a shepherd, a Lab or anything with hip trouble. For a sedan or a low hatchback Kodiak is more ramp than you need; Ridgeline is lighter and cheaper for load heights under 28 inches.
Questions about a dog ramp for truck beds
Which size do I need?
Measure ground to tailgate. The 63-inch suits most SUVs and crossovers; the 71-inch is the one for pickup beds and lifted trucks. The wider 20-inch deck is worth it for a big or unsteady dog: shepherds, Labs, anything with hip trouble. If your dog is arthritic, size up.
Will 250 lb really hold?
Yes, and it is aluminum rather than plastic, so it doesn't flex underfoot. Flex is what makes a hesitant dog stop halfway.
Is the carpet hard to clean?
Hose it and let it dry. It sheds mud better than it looks like it will.
Can I leave it in the truck bed?
Yes. Aluminum won't rust. The carpet will last longer out of standing water.
My dog has never used a ramp. How do I train him?
Almost none have. Lay it flat at home first and walk him across it for treats, then raise one end a little at a time over a few days before it goes near the truck. Rushing day one is the main reason dogs refuse a ramp for good.
