Getting your dog to use it
- Try it as stairs firstMost dogs take to steps faster because each paw gets a flat place to land. Set it against the sofa and walk him up for treats.
- Switch if he hesitatesIf he stalls at the bottom or hops rather than steps, unfold it flat into a ramp and try again. Long-backed dogs almost always prefer the slope.
- Leave it where he uses itOnce he has chosen, leave it in that shape. Dogs settle into one route and stop thinking about it.

Covers manufacturing faults — a weld, a hinge, a frame that fails in normal use, a seam or a zip that goes. We repair it, send the part, or replace the piece.
It doesn't cover chewing, scratching, damage from misuse, or anything loaded past its stated weight limit. Nor does it cover normal wear: sisal fraying is the post doing its job, and carpet treads mat down with use.

Some dogs take steps. Some need a slope.
Most owners find out which one their dog will use only after they have bought the wrong thing. Willow folds between the two, so you can stop guessing.

About Willow 2-in-1 Wooden Dog Stairs for Couch and Bed, Folds Into a Ramp, 150 lb
Nobody knows in advance whether their dog will take steps or a slope. You find out after you've bought the wrong one and it sits in the hallway untouched, which is an expensive way to learn something about your own dog. Dog stairs for the couch that also fold into a ramp mean you only buy once.
Willow is one piece of solid wood that folds both ways. Stood up, it's a set of carpeted stairs against a couch. Opened out flat, it's a continuous ramp. Same unit, same footprint, and you can change your mind in about ten seconds.
The treads are carpeted rather than bare wood, which matters more than it sounds: a hesitant dog will plant a paw on carpet and commit, where on varnished wood it will scrabble and back off. The frame is cut with wavy side rails, so it reads as furniture in a living room rather than something borrowed from a workshop.
Why Willow works for small and senior dogs
- Stairs or ramp in one piecestand it up for steps, open it flat for a slope; about ten seconds either way.
- 3 or 4 stepsthree for a couch or armchair, four for a bed.
- 150 lb capacitysolid wood frame, plenty for any dog using a couch or a bed.
- Anti-slip carpet treadsa hesitant dog commits on carpet where it would scrabble on varnished wood.
- Ramp mode for long backsdachshunds and corgis use the continuous slope instead of stepping down.
- Folds flatslides away when you want the floor back.
- Wavy wooden side railslooks like living room furniture, not workshop equipment.

Which size, and will it fit?
Measure from the floor to the top of the cushion or mattress first. Choose 3 steps for a couch or an armchair, 4 steps for a bed, and pick the one that gets close without overshooting. Willow is an indoor piece rated to 150 lb; it is not built for a car tailgate or a truck bed. If your dog is long-backed, start in ramp mode rather than stairs.
Questions about dog stairs for the couch
3 steps or 4?
Three for a couch or armchair, four for a bed. Measure floor to cushion and pick the one that gets close without overshooting.
Which shape should I start with?
Stairs. Most dogs take to defined steps faster. If he hesitates at the bottom or tries to hop it rather than step it, fold it flat and try the ramp. Switching takes about ten seconds.
Is 150 lb enough?
For anything using a couch or a bed, yes. This is an indoor piece; for truck beds you want something rated higher.
Will it mark my floor, and is there any assembly?
It arrives ready to use and folds flat for storage. It sits on wood feet, so on a hard floor a thin rug underneath is worth doing.
How do I clean the carpet treads?
Vacuum them like any carpet and spot-clean with a damp cloth. The solid wood frame wipes down.
What if he won't use either shape, and how does shipping work?
Almost no dog uses one on day one. Start with stairs, reward every step, and if he balks, switch to the ramp; you get two tries, not one. Free tracked shipping on every US order. Orders ship within 1–3 business days and arrive 6–15 business days door to door. US only. Send it back within 30 days of delivery, unused and in its original packaging, for a refund. If it arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, we cover the return shipping.
