Covers manufacturing faults — a weld, a hinge, a frame that fails in normal use, a seam or a zip that goes. We repair it, send the part, or replace the piece.
It doesn't cover chewing, scratching, damage from misuse, or anything loaded past its stated weight limit. Nor does it cover normal wear: sisal fraying is the post doing its job, and carpet treads mat down with use.

A hand under the back end
Most dogs who lose their back legs lose them slowly. The front end stays strong and willing; it is the hips that stop starting.

About Merlin Dog Sling for Back Legs, Padded Handle, 4 Sizes for 20–77 lb
Most dogs who lose their back legs lose them slowly. The front end stays strong and willing; it is the hips that stop starting. Those dogs do not need carrying. They need a hand under the back end for the first few steps, and again at the curb, and again at the back door. A dog sling for back legs does exactly that.
Merlin is that and nothing more. A soft knit panel sits over the hips, two loops pass around the hind legs, and a detachable padded handle lets you take as much or as little of his weight as he needs that day. The front of the dog is left completely free, so he still walks. He is just not doing all of it alone.
It is light enough to leave on between yard trips and small enough to go in a coat pocket. Four sizes, from a 20 lb terrier to a 77 lb shepherd.
Why Merlin works for dogs whose hips give out
- Supports the back end onlythe right amount of help for a dog who can walk but cannot get started.

- Detachable padded handletake as much or as little weight as he needs that day.
- Soft brushed knit panel with bound edgesnot raw webbing, which is the usual cause of rubbing.
- Sits clear of the tail and undersidehe can relieve himself with it on.
- Four sizes, 20 to 77 lbfrom a terrier to a shepherd.
- Light and quick to put onsmall enough for a coat pocket, and works on stairs.

Which size, and which dogs it is not for
Measure the waist closest to the hips. S fits 16 to 18 inches (20 to 28 lb), M 18 to 21 inches (28 to 39 lb), L 20 to 24 inches (39 to 55 lb), XL 24 to 30 inches (55 to 77 lb). If you are between sizes, take the larger. It supports the back end only, so if the front legs are weak too, or you need to lift him bodily into a car, you want the full-body Harrier harness instead.
Questions about a dog sling for back legs
How is a rear sling different from a full-body harness?
This supports the back end only. If your dog's front legs are also weak, or you need to lift him bodily into a car, you want the full-body harness instead. If he can walk but his hips give out, this is the right one and it is far less to put on.
Which size do I order?
Measure the waist closest to the hips. S fits 16 to 18 inches (20 to 28 lb), M 18 to 21 inches (28 to 39 lb), L 20 to 24 inches (39 to 55 lb), XL 24 to 30 inches (55 to 77 lb). If you are between sizes, take the larger.
Will it rub?
The panel is a soft brushed knit with bound edges rather than raw webbing, which is the usual culprit. Check the skin inside the leg loops after the first few days, especially on a thin-coated dog.
Can he go to the bathroom in it?
Yes. The sling sits clear of the tail and the underside.
Can I use it on stairs?
Yes, and it is one of the places it earns its keep. Go down slowly and let him set the pace. Take the weight, do not pull him forward.
