Covers manufacturing faults — a weld, a hinge, a frame that fails in normal use, a seam or a zip that goes. We repair it, send the part, or replace the piece.
It doesn't cover chewing, scratching, damage from misuse, or anything loaded past its stated weight limit. Nor does it cover normal wear: sisal fraying is the post doing its job, and carpet treads mat down with use.

Sloped foam stairs stand off the bed, and the space behind the top tread is exactly where a small paw goes in the dark. Basalt is cut square on the back and sides so it meets the furniture with nothing behind it.

About Basalt Right-Angled Foam Pet Stairs, 3 to 5 Steps up to 23.6" Tall
Most foam pet stairs are cut as a wedge. The back slopes away, so the top tread sits several inches out from the bed and there is a gap behind it, the gap a small dog finds with a back paw at two in the morning. Basalt is cut square: flat back, flat sides, right angles all the way down.
It stands flush against a bed frame or a couch with nothing behind it, and it takes up less floor because none of the depth is wasted on a slope. The core is high-density foam. The treads are a pale waffle-textured knit with real texture to it, so a paw grips instead of sliding, and that goes for cats as much as dogs.
Three, four or five steps, up to 23.6 inches tall. The cover unzips along the side and goes in the machine.

Will it fit?
Measure floor to the top of the cushion or mattress. Three steps suits around 15 inches, four around 19, five around 23; choose the one that lands just under the surface. Because the back is square, allow only its own depth out from the furniture, not more. Basalt is a light foam piece for small dogs and cats up to roughly 35 lb: a dachshund, an older cat, a small terrier. It is not for a retriever or anything close to it.
