Covers manufacturing faults — a weld, a hinge, a frame that fails in normal use, a seam or a zip that goes. We repair it, send the part, or replace the piece.

It doesn't cover chewing, scratching, damage from misuse, or anything loaded past its stated weight limit. Nor does it cover normal wear: sisal fraying is the post doing its job, and carpet treads mat down with use.

About Harrier Full-Body Dog Lift Harness, Padded Handle, Chest 25–39"

Most owners realize they need a dog lift harness the moment they try to lift a 70 lb dog off the floor with their hands under his belly, and feel him panic because his back end is swinging loose.

Harrier spreads that lift across a padded panel under the chest and belly instead of a strap cutting into soft tissue. The load comes up through reflective webbing to a single padded handle, so you take the weight through your arm and your back stays straight. He is held level, not folded, which is the difference between a dog who tolerates being helped and a dog who fights it.

The inside face is breathable mesh, because a dog recovering from surgery wears this several times a day for weeks. The reflective webbing is for the 6am yard trip in January. Two sizes, chest 25 to 32 inches and 33 to 39 inches.

Why Harrier works for dogs who need the whole body lifted

  • Padded chest and belly panelthe lift spreads across the torso, not a strap into soft tissue.
  • One padded handlethe weight comes up through your arm with your back straight.
  • Full-body supportcovers hind-leg weakness, post-surgery recovery, degenerative myelopathy and dogs who can stand but cannot get started.
  • Breathable mesh liningcan be worn several times a day for weeks without overheating the skin.
  • Reflective webbingvisible on dark early-morning trips outside.
  • Side-release bucklequick on and off for a dog who has had enough.
  • Two sizes, chest 25–32 in and 33–39 inretrievers and collies through big Labradors, shepherds and Rottweilers.

Which size, and which dogs it is not for

Measure the chest at its widest point, just behind the front legs. 25 to 32 inches covers most retrievers and collies; 33 to 39 inches suits a big Labrador, shepherd or Rottweiler. If you are between sizes, take the larger, since the straps pull in a long way. It is not the right tool for a dog with no hind-leg function at all; that dog needs a wheelchair. If you only need to steady the back end, the Merlin rear sling is lighter and cheaper.

Questions about a dog lift harness

Is this lift harness for the back legs or the whole dog?

The whole dog. It wraps the torso and lifts the body as one, which suits hind-leg weakness, post-operative recovery, degenerative myelopathy and dogs who can stand but cannot get started. If you only need to steady the back end, a rear sling is lighter and cheaper.

Which size do I order?

Measure the chest at its widest point, just behind the front legs. 25 to 32 inches is most retrievers and collies; 33 to 39 inches suits a big Labrador, shepherd or Rottweiler. If you are between sizes, take the larger. The straps pull in a long way.

Can he wear it all day?

Leave it on between trips outside if that is easier, but take it off overnight and check the skin under the padding daily, the way you would with any harness used for weight.

How do I use it on stairs or to lift him into the car?

On stairs, go slowly and let him set the pace while you take the weight through the handle. You can lift him into the car, but do it with your legs and keep him close to your body. For a repeated daily lift, a ramp or steps will do your back more good than any harness.

Will it help him walk?

It takes some of his weight so his own legs do less work. It is support, not propulsion. A dog with no hind-leg function at all needs a wheelchair.
